A unique collaboration between RM Productions in conjunction with Games Design students at UCLan and Lancaster University has resulted in the first Preston Guild mobile App game. RM Productions’ (sister company to Black Bull Studios) challenged them earlier in the year to come up with a mobile games idea in celebration of the 2012 Guild. Georgina Cronshaw, Will Davies and James Burton’s Cotton Pops game idea was selected in May. Timur explained that many games rely heavily on sound to create a mood in a game and how this isn't helpful for a deaf gamer. Timur's aim is to create games that will give a good an experience to both deaf gamers and those that can hear. Towards the end of semester 1 we were very lucky to haveanother visit and lecture from Arthur Parsons,Game Director from one of the highest profile companies in the world, Travellers Tales/ TT Games, owned by Warner Bros. Nicola came into Uclan with Lead Artist, Nicola Daly to givea lecture, and set a brief and workshop for the first year Games Designstudents. Arthur set an exciting challenge for the students to designgame design concepts for a Lego game.
